WOODHAY WONDER still has it.
The 3yos daughter of Tamayuz, shows 'she's still got it' at Newmarket beating a strong field of 17 runners – first time in Handicap company. Circumstances meant she had to take the lead but this didn’t matter as the filly relished her return to the track this season – finding more up the hill to land the prize. She has given her owners, Matthew Webber and Toby Ward plenty of thrills in her career so far, winning three races as a 2yos including bringing up the double in the Tattersalls Sales races at Newmarket’s July course, and earning to date over £177k. This is a great feat from costing only 26,000gns as a yearling.
She’s trained on nicely from two to three and although not grown up, as filled out nicely – mentioned Tom Marquand after steering her to victory on Thursday 18th April. She should be plenty ready to step back up to Stakes company – there are a couple of options for her on Guineas weekend back in Newmarket.
Feisty but tough, she leaves her best efforts for the racecourse – says Tom Ward. I enjoy training her because she always comes out with a 'smile' and has really showcased our yard over the past year. This performance opened her options up again this season. I am thrilled for our hard-working team as well as my Dad and Matthew Webber, who own the filly.
