Winning present for Newlyweds
Last week was a week to surely remember for the Newlywed trainer and his wife. After quickly moving their wedding a week early due to Boris’ new restrictions yet again limiting wedding guests, the couple married on Saturday 26th September in front of 30 close friends and family – although sadly missing Alex’s extended family who live in the USA.
It was a beautifully romantic day and the spontaneity made the wedding feel even more magical. The excitements just kept coming after their mini moon in the Cotswolds, when the filly, MISHAL STAR whom Alex rides at home tallied a career record of 2 wins from 3 runs on Monday.
MISHAL STAR who has become the yards new stable star, crossed the line smartly to win with a good deal in hand in the 6f Nursery at Nottingham. Harry Bentley who has ridden her from the start, gave her a very patient ride knowing her class would prevail once a clear path arrived, winning by 1 ½ lengths. The filly has gone from strength to strength and the Ward team have plenty more to look forward to with her this season.
“She is our first runner since getting married…We think she's a pretty smart filly and may look at the Radley at Newbury or Bosra Sham at Newmarket. She looks pretty versatile and should be a nice prospect for next year.” Tom Ward, trainer.
Many congratulations to her owner/breeder Mrs. Elaine Gadsden-Chivers, who has the fillies dam, Ruzma (Exceed and Excel) in foal to Harry’s Angel back home. We are absolutely thrilled for her operation.
