The sun continues to shine as the team prepare for a busy summer of racing.

March’s Runner Highlights

Only a handful of runners sent out this month with the team gearing up and ready to hit the start of the turf season with a bang in April. Our March runners did not disappoint however as we came home with some placings.

NOWHERE picked up a second place at Wolverhampton under Sean Levey on 22nd March in a Fillies’ only handicap beaten by just over a length. She is by Nathaniel out of the Dubawi mare, Hereawi and she is owned by FitorFat Racing.

WHIZZ BY (pictured above) hit the track once again on 26th March and got caught up, being beaten a length to bring home second place under Sean Levey. She is by New Bay out of Desert Prince mare, Whazzis and is also owned by FirorFat Racing.

The Dames

After moving Lady Diesel on in the March Horses In Training sales, the Dames have been searching for a new exciting filly and have managed to secure just that for the club.

Their 2 year old filly is by outstanding sire, TOO DARN HOT – who has as many has five progenies entered into the Guinea’s next month; And she’s out of the well-related Nayef mare, QUENELLE, who is from the same family as seven-time Group One winning mare, OUIJA BOARD. Her dam, Quenelle is proving to be an excellent producer herself, already producing a stakes filly and two horses rated 90+ from just three runners.

She is definitely one to get very excited about! The filly is yet to be named, and the decision will be down to the members of the club.

Just to remind you…Racing Dames is a female founded club that that was established for women who enjoy going racing and love horses. With your membership you will become a joint leaser of this filly and will therefore enjoy all the perks of ownership, including weekly updates from your trainer, yard visits, owners badges and invites to exclusive events hosted by Racing Dames and their sponsor Pink Diesel. Some events coming up this season include a drinks and canapes evening at The Surprise in Chelsea, as well as a catered picnic with exclusive race day badges at Glorious Goodwood.

Breezin’ Up…

There is just less than 2 weeks to go until the first of the Breeze Up sales and the catalogues are being analysed to find our next superstar. The first sale is the Craven Breeze Up being held at Tattersalls on 14th - 16th April.

Tom has had a lot of success from purchasing horses at the Breeze Up sales in previous years including DOUBLE CHERRY. He won twice and placed three times from eight starts in Class 2 and Class 3 handicaps at York and Haydock and he was subsequently sold to Australia for £250,000.

Another success is TRANSPARENT (pictured below). He was purchased from the Guineas Breeze Up sale for £56,700 and has so far from three starts, won twice and placed second. He looks to have an exciting summer ahead of him with sights eyeing up a possible start at Royal Ascot in June.

A precocious looking 2 year old filly by MASSAAT was purchased from the Tattersalls Somerville sale for £11,000. She is a full sister to black type gelding, MAS RAPIDO and winning filly, RAPIDO GIRL.
