Double Cherry comes out ontop
DOUBLE CHERRY wins again at Haydock in the Class 3 Haldane Fisher Handicap under Sean Leavy for owners C Holt, M White, C & R Russell.
Bought from the Arqana Breeze Up sales at Doncaster the horse showed he was a talented progressive type and after winning at Goodwood in June was steered towards the big Handicaps at Haydock and York. This result, however, did not come without a fight. The race ended up being extremely rough and Double Cherry was badly hampered when coming into the straight. Thankfully, jockey Sean Leavy proved his tenacity and pure determination to get the horse over the line.
Double Cherry was then 2nd in the Heritage Handicap at York (Oct 7th) and finally sold to Australia where Annabel Neasham will race him in their Autumn. He was a fantastic horse to train.
